Subscribe, renew, or clear an ILOE fine that is blocking your work permit. Same-day handling, and a free status check against your Emirates ID first.
ILOE is the cheapest compliance obligation in the UAE and the one that most often stops a work permit dead. We see it weekly: a permit stuck in processing, and the cause is an AED 400 liability against an Emirates ID from a subscription the employee never knew they needed.
| Service | Typical turnaround | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Status check against your Emirates ID | Same day | Free — before you commit to anything |
| New subscription | Same day | Category confirmed against your MOHRE contract |
| Annual or multi-year renewal | Same day | Multi-year removes the lapse risk entirely |
| Fine settlement | Same day | AED 400 non-subscription, AED 200 unpaid premiums |
| Reconciling a fine you already paid | 1 – 5 days | Usually an Emirates ID renewal mismatch |
| Company-wide staff audit | 1 – 3 days | Before permits get blocked, not after |
| Claim submission support | Within the 30-day window | Sequencing matters; see below |
| Category | Basic salary | Per month | Per year | Max monthly payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Category A | AED 16,000 or less | AED 5 | AED 60 | AED 10,000 |
| Category B | Above AED 16,000 | AED 10 | AED 120 | AED 20,000 |
| Exclusive of VAT and channel fees. Benefit is 60% of average basic salary over the six months before job loss, for up to three consecutive months. | ||||
If your basic is AED 9,000 and allowances take you to AED 18,000, you are Category A. Subscribing to the wrong category is one of the most common reasons a claim is later reduced or refused — and it is invisible until you need to claim.
We confirm your category against the registered MOHRE contract, not your payslip.
| Trigger | Penalty | Consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Not subscribing after the grace period | AED 400 | Blocks new work permit issuance and renewal |
| Premiums unpaid beyond 90 days | AED 200 | Policy may be cancelled |
| Fines left unpaid | — | Deducted from a future claim or end-of-service dues |
| Policy cancelled | — | The 12-month eligibility clock restarts from zero |
The last row is the expensive one. The AED 400 is an irritation; losing twelve months of accumulated eligibility is what actually costs you money if you are made redundant eight months later.
To subscribe or check your status
Legally the subscription is the employee's obligation. Practically, the burden lands on you: an employee with an unpaid ILOE liability cannot have a work permit issued or renewed, so your onboarding stalls and your quota sits unused.
We run ILOE status checks across a whole workforce as part of a corporate PRO services retainer — alongside licence, establishment card and WPS compliance. Companies that never have this problem check ILOE at pre-onboarding and again at renewal, rather than discovering it when a permit is refused.
Subscribe for the longest term offered. The annual cost is identical and it eliminates the single most common failure mode we see — a monthly payment that silently failed when a card expired, resetting the eligibility clock without anyone noticing.
To qualify you need twelve consecutive months of paid premiums, an active policy on the date of job loss, an involuntary termination, and a claim filed within 30 days.
That 30-day clock runs from the termination date on your MOHRE record — not your last working day and not your visa cancellation date. People routinely spend six weeks negotiating a settlement and find the window closed while they were talking. Full detail in our guide to subscribing to ILOE and clearing a fine.
Yes, in most cases the same day. We need your Emirates ID number, a UAE mobile registered in your name, and your basic salary from the MOHRE contract so the correct category is applied.
Send us your Emirates ID number and we will check your status against the scheme record and tell you what is outstanding. The check is free and takes minutes.
Usually the payment posted against a previous Emirates ID number after a card renewal. The original policy certificate or receipt is what gets it reconciled, which is why we tell everyone to keep them.
Category A if your basic salary is AED 16,000 or below, Category B above that. It is assessed on basic salary from your registered MOHRE contract, not your total package — a distinction that causes many claims to be reduced.
Yes, the subscription is tied to your Emirates ID rather than to the employer, so it continues across a job change provided premiums keep being paid. Any outstanding fine follows you as well.
Yes. We audit ILOE status across a workforce and clear liabilities before they block work permits, usually as part of a corporate PRO retainer alongside licence and WPS compliance.
