In short: at the Amer and Tasheel counter, with typing included, a new two-year Dubai employment visa for a skilled hire from abroad costs AED 3,620.51 for a category 1 company, AED 4,542.51 for category 2 and AED 6,842.51 for category 3, and AED 1,329.35 more if the person is already in the UAE. A family member costs AED 1,702 from abroad (AED 1,372 for a child under 18, who skips the medical). A Golden Visa through property is AED 9,478. Our own fee is AED 500 per new visa and AED 400 per renewal or cancellation, VAT included; the Golden Visa is quoted separately.
Counter prices: what you actually pay at an Amer or Tasheel centre for each line, the government fee plus the centre's typing and service charges, exactly as they appear on the receipt. The fees an authority publishes on its own website are what you pay when you file online yourself with UAE PASS; at a counter the centre's charges are added, so a calculator built only on published fees always comes in lower than the real bill. Our price list was reviewed on 1 November 2026.
Ask two questions: what will the counter receipt show, and what is your own fee? A provider who cannot separate the two is not quoting, they are marking up. This calculator shows both, line by line.
| File | Government and typing fees | Our fee |
|---|---|---|
| Unskilled hire from abroad, category 1 company | AED 2,837.93 | AED 500 |
| Skilled hire from abroad, category 2 company | AED 4,542.51 | AED 500 |
| Same hire, already in the UAE | AED 5,871.86 | AED 500 |
| Employee renewal, category 2, skilled | AED 2,929.14 | AED 400 |
| Visa cancellation, employee inside the UAE | AED 377.93 | AED 400 |
| Spouse and two children from abroad, first family file | AED 4,699 | AED 1,500 |
| Golden Visa, property owner applying alone | AED 9,478 | Quoted |
The biggest variable is one most employers have never checked: your company's MOHRE classification. The MOHRE permit line alone is AED 328 for category 1, AED 1,250 for category 2 and AED 3,550 for category 3 at the counter, on every hire. Renewals follow the same pattern. If your per-visa costs have risen without explanation, check your category before you change provider; see WPS compliance.
The second variable is the employee's qualification: the offer letter for an unskilled role is AED 279, against AED 1,061.58 for a diploma or degree holder.
Many files carry a blocker the client did not know about: an unpaid ILOE fine, a WPS flag on the establishment, unattested documents or an expired establishment card. Each one adds a cycle, and some add cost. Send us the trade licence or the passport page when you ask for your fixed quote, and we will tell you what is outstanding before you commit.
At the Amer and Tasheel counter, from AED 2,837.93 for an unskilled hire from abroad at a category 1 company, and AED 4,542.51 for a skilled hire at a category 2 company, including the offer letter, MOHRE fee, worker protection insurance, entry permit, medical, Emirates ID, Tawjeeh, ILOE and residence issuance. Someone already in the UAE adds AED 1,329.35. Our fee is AED 500 per visa.
For a resident on an employment visa, AED 1,702 per adult from abroad and AED 1,372 per child under 18, plus AED 253 once to open the family file. A family member already in the UAE on a visit visa is AED 3,070, because the entry permit is issued inside the country and a change of status is added. Our fee is AED 500 per visa.
Through property, AED 9,478 for the main applicant at the counter, including the Dubai Land Department and admin fees. On the salary, company or deposit routes there are no DLD fees, so it is AED 4,194. Each family member adds the 10-year residence, Emirates ID and, for adults, the medical.
The government website shows the authority's own fee for applying online with UAE PASS. Applications filed through an Amer or Tasheel centre also carry the centre's typing and service charges, which appear on the same receipt. This calculator uses the counter figures, so the total matches what is actually paid.
The employer. Article 6(4) of the Labour Law forbids recovering recruitment and employment costs from the worker, directly or indirectly.
No. It is our price list of counter charges, reviewed on 1 November 2026. Counter prices change without notice, so your written quote confirms every figure on the day, before anything is paid.
Numbers are one thing
A calculator works from what you type. We work from what is actually recorded against your file, which is frequently different, and always the number that matters. Where we need to look into your record, the file check is AED 100 (5% VAT included), fully credited to your fee if you go ahead.
