Rarely on the card itself. It surfaces when the mismatch is compared against something else — a family sponsorship where your name must match the marriage certificate, a title deed, a bank onboarding, or a Golden Visa file. By then several documents carry the error.

How the correction runs
Compare everything, character by character
Passport, Emirates ID, residence visa, labour contract, Ejari, and any certificates. Establish exactly which documents disagree before you touch anything.
Decide the correct version
Normally whatever the current passport says. If the passport itself is wrong, that has to be fixed at your consulate first — correcting downstream of a wrong source just moves the problem.
Submit the modification through ICP
With the passport as supporting evidence, via an authorised typing centre or ICP channels.
Update the residence visa record
The Emirates ID and the visa are separate records. Correcting one does not correct the other.
Cascade to everything downstream
Ejari, bank, telecom, employer records, and any dependants sponsored on your file.
If a family visa, property purchase or Golden Visa application is coming, sort the name first. A correction takes days on its own; discovered mid-application it stalls the whole file and sometimes costs the submission fee.

Does correcting my Emirates ID fix my visa too?
No. The Emirates ID and the residence visa are separate records and both need updating. Ejari, bank and employer records then need aligning downstream.
My passport spelling changed at renewal. Is that a problem?
